Overview
The Urban Design Center Kashiwa-no-ha (director: Prof. Atsushi Deguchi of the University of Tokyo) was founded to promote community development facilitated by the partnership between the public, private and academic sectors in local areas in November, 2006. It serves newly developed regions surrounding the UT Kashiwa Campus and along the Tsukuba Express.
UDCK is jointly operated by UT and Chiba University, and involves cooperation with several public and private enterprises, local civil societies in Kashiwa, such as the Kashiwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mitsui Fudosan Co, Tsukuba Express, among others.
